It all started as a volunteering episode in a rural Cambodian area, resulting in a heartbreaking emotional attachment. Cambodia is a country that is full of contrast between the extremely rich and the extremely poor. There are millions of tourists visiting the world heritage site of the temples of Angkor every year but not many of them are aware of the hidden side of the country – the one that remains in desolating poverty. Children are being exposed to sex tourism, and their parents getting underpaid by big brands that have their commodities assembled in inhumane conditions while billions of dollars are being spent in semi-illegally established casinos. There are not any images of the temples of Angkor in this collection for the sake of not supporting the dodgy practices of the local government by buying an entry ticket. Instead, take a look at the normal, non-commercial faction of the former Kingdom of Kampuchea.
